McCourts Reach Divorce Settlement After Judge Delivers Ultimatum

Settlement talks have been on again, off again for Jamie and Frank McCourt after a judge ruled that a post-marital agreement they had signed was invalid. The original agreement granted ownership of the Los Angeles Dodgers to Frank McCourt. However, a judge's ruling that the agreement was invalid allowed Jamie McCourt to seek partial ownership of the team under California's community property law, according to a report on ESPN.

Dashiell Bennett reported on the couple's eventual divorce settlement in "Jamie to Receive $650,000 a Month in Spousal Support." They agreed to $650,000 per month in alimony until Jamie reaches $55 million. After that, monthly payments drop to $325,000 per month.

As of this writing, however, ownership of the Dodgers is still up in the air. That part of the settlement had been hinging on a $3 billion TV deal with FOX that MLB executive Bud Selig rejected. Frank McCourt then filed for bankruptcy protection in an attempt to retain control of the team.

Country Singer, Husband Reach Undisclosed Divorce Settlement

Country star Sara Evans and her husband Craig Schelske reached a divorce settlement for an undisclosed amount.

This is according to Sterling Whitaker in an article titled "Sara Evans’ ex-husband Craig Schelske asks for privacy in child custody case." There were allegations of marital infidelity on both sides, with Evans claiming that Schelske had an affair with their nanny.

Evans later settled a defamation lawsuit with the nanny for a reported $500,000. Evans and Schelske are also embroiled in a court battle over custody of their three children. Schelske has asked to keep the details of the custody battle private.

Woods, Nordegren Settle Divorce for $750 Million

According to a Fox report, "Elin Nordegren Gets $750M, Custody of Kids in Exchange for Silence in Tiger Woods Divorce," Nordegren sued Woods for divorce for multiple extramarital affairs. As part of the settlement, Nordegren was awarded full custody of the children in exchange for not speaking publicly about Woods’ alleged affairs.
