Notable DWI Arrests in Texas
Notable DWI arrests in Texas have led to the creation of laws and/or provision changes in order to promote public safety. Even though one may not be aware of new provisions to DWI law, individuals can still be charged with these offenses. Keeping up to date with notable DWI arrests and changes in Fort Worth DWI charges can greatly help you by providing examples of illegal behavior. Take into consideration these notable DWI cases in Texas in order to avoid illegal activity.
Holiday DWI Arrests
Many DWI arrests happen in Texas during holidays such as Halloween, the Fourth of July and New Years Eve. Many people drink alcoholic beverages during these holidays and make the wrong decision to operate a vehicle. There have been instances in which more than 40 people have been arrested on holidays in Austin Texas. Due to the tendency of people to drink and drive on holidays, judges can temporarily grant no refusal laws in order to cut down on DWI behavior. Under the no refusal policy if individuals refuse breathalyzers they must get their blood drawn in order to determine BAC.
Texas Underage Arrests
Due to increases in the amount of underage DWI arrests in Fort Worth over the last few years, zero tolerance laws are now applicable in Texas. Underage drinking and driving is a serious problem in Fort Worth and some sources say that Texas citizens as young as 12 are consuming alcoholic beverages. As a way to deter DWI related offenses for individuals under the age of 21, harsh penalties are applicable if zero tolerance laws are violated. Under zero tolerance law any individual under the age of 21 operating a vehicle with a BAC over 0.00 will face harsh penalties. According to Texas alcoholic beverage code Sec. 106.041 individuals under the legal drinking age of 21 who are convicted of DWI can be subjected to a 6-month jail sentence.
Notable DWI arrests in Texas encourage representatives of the law to develop stricter DWI laws and enforce these laws. Holiday DWI and underage DWI arrests are major problems in Texas; as a result laws have been created in order to deter this illegal behavior. Being unaware of new DWI laws and provisions is not an excuse for violation of these laws.

$5.1 Million Settlement for Defective Casting Machine Injury
The products liability attorneys of Galfand Berger, who handle  personal injury lawsuits in Philadelphia and personal injury settlements in Philadelphia  and throughout Pennsylvania and in New Jersey, obtained a $5.1 million settlement for a defective casting machine injury.
The Herman Vertical Centrifugal casting machine was defective as designed because it contained a risk of injury of molten metal spraying about during operation, which had not been designed out to the extent possible by either having the entire machine, including the die, placed below floor level with interlocked access floor panels or a positively affixed interlocked pour guard. Furthermore, the Plaintiff's claimed that Herman Corporation did not provide adequate warnings. A detailed installation drawing had a notation that the pouring guard was to be furnished by the customer. However, there was no information provided to the purchaser of this product by Herman Corporation as to the type or size of the pour guard and more importantly the manner and method it was to be secured and fastened.
